Shooting Range Rules At The Ballantyne Range

Range Rules

    1. All shooters must check in before shooting
    2. All shooters must have filled out the current liability waiver and watched the safety video
    3. Firearms and ammunition may be inspected by Range Safety Officer
    4. All rental firearms MUST use range ammunition
    5. Assume all firearms are loaded
    6. Always keep the firearm pointed in a safe direction
    7. Keep your finger outside of the firearm’s trigger guard and off the trigger until your sights are lined up and you’re ready to shoot
    8. KNOW what’s beyond your target!
    9. Ear and Eye protection are required on the shooting lanes at all times.
    10. No food or drink in on the shooting lanes
    11. No rapid fire shooting on weekends; during the week must be approved by the RSO on duty
    12. No drawing from holster on weekends; during the week must be approved by the RSO on duty
    13. Only shoot your target – make sure target is positioned low enough that you do not shoot the equipment, and high enough that you do not shoot the floor
    14. No one under the age of 10 is allowed on the lanes
    15. Children between the ages of 10 and 18 MUST be accompanied at all times on the lanes by a parent or legal guardian
    16. All shooters must abide by all range rules
    17. No tracer/incendiary or allowed under any circumstances
    18. No birdshot or non-flight controlled buckshot allowed at any time
